The Isle of Blood (The Monstrumologist, Book 3)/5(85).   This gothic, gory novel—the third book in the Printz Honor–winning Monstrumologist series—is “articulately literary, horrifically grotesque, and mind-bendingly complex” (Kirkus Reviews). When Dr. Warthrop goes hunting for the “Holy Grail of Monstrumology” with his eager new assistant, Arkwright, he leaves Will Henry in Victorian New York/5(67). The Isle of Blood is supposed to be a book about the Monstrumologists hunting monsters, but that is not what it is. Well, to be fair, about a hundred or so pages of it is, but the rest is a bunch of whiny Will Henry going on a James Bond meets Sherlock Holmes adventure across the globe in search of Dr. Warthrop/5(85).

Isle of Blood and Stone by Makiia Lucier is the first book in the Isle of Blood and Stone duology. This series is a young adult historical fantasy with a touch of romance involved. The story starts with the royal navigator Lord Antoni out on and excursion with a group including two of the young princes.4/5.

Isle of Blood is a great example of New Pulp Fiction. It utilizes Pulp Fiction tropes such as a team led by an exceptional person (e.g. Doc Savage, the Avenger/Richard Benson), weird science, lost cities, and a touch of the supernatural/5. Was The Isle of Blood worth the listening time? I mean, yeah I listened to it at work, it was not bad, just not that great. Any additional comments? The series kind of lost me with this one. The reviews of the next book then sent me down a path finding out some things and where the story is / was going and I never even bothered with the next one. The Isle of Blood (The Monstrumologist #3) When Dr. Warthrop goes hunting the "Holy Grail of Monstrumology" with his eager new assistant, Arkwright, he leaves Will Henry in New York. Finally, Will can enjoy something that always seemed out of reach: a normal life with a real family.   THE ISLE OF BLOOD From the Monstrumologist series, Vol. 3 and the last few months of senior year provides an excellent backdrop for this final book about Lara Jean. The characters ping from event to event with emotions always at the forefront. Han further develops her cast, pushing them to new maturity and leaving few stones : Rick Yancey.
